Urgent Appeal Arab coalition for Sudan (ACS):  Stop Forcible Deportation of Sudanese Refugees in Italy

In the recent days the ACS has received credible information about forcible deportation operation targeting the Sudanese asylum seekers in Italy.

 

The deported refugees number is between 40 to 70 persons.

Italian and Sudanese authorities coordinate this deportation operation.
ACS condemns this inhumane operation, which violates all internationals’ treaties that aiming to protect refugees’ rights.
Given the Sudan human rights records, the deported refugees were put in very fearful situations. It is well known fact that most of these deported cases are from the war torn regions of Darfur, Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile.
This the second time for the Sudanese refugees to be forcibly deported, in December 2015, the Jordanian government with a collaboration of the Sudanese authorities have forcibly deported 800 Sudanese refugees with a complete silence of the UNHCR and the EU.
ACS calls all human rights organization to continue campaigning for the Sudanese refugees rights and push forward to stop this ongoing operation of Sudanese forcible deportation.
ACS reminds the Italian government and the EU states members to observe their obligations to protect the refugees’ rights.
